1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using ChapterLens ("Service," "Platform," or "Application"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Service. For users under 18 years of age, a parent or guardian must review and accept these Terms on their behalf.

2. Description of Service

ChapterLens is an educational technology platform that provides digital learning content, assessments, progress tracking, and related educational services. The Service is delivered entirely online as a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform.

3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Registration

• You must provide accurate and complete information during registration
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
• One account per user; sharing accounts is prohibited

3.2 Student Accounts

Student accounts must be created and managed by a parent, guardian, or authorized educational institution. Students under 18 may not create accounts independently without parental consent.

3.3 Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or misuse the Service.

4. Subscriptions and Payment

4.1 Subscription Plans

ChapterLens offers various subscription plans with different features and pricing. Subscriptions are per student profile; a parent account may hold different plans for different children, and multi-child discounts may apply. Current pricing is available on our website and may be changed with 30 days' notice. All subscriptions are purchased and managed on the parent website — the student mobile app contains no purchases.

4.2 Payment Terms

• All payments are processed securely through Razorpay
• Subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis
• All fees are in Indian Rupees (INR) unless otherwise stated
• Applicable taxes (GST) will be added to all transactions
• Payment methods include credit/debit cards, UPI, net banking, and wallets

4.3 Auto-Renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. You can manage your subscription settings in your account dashboard.

4.4 Free Trials

Free trial periods, if offered, are available only once per user. We may require payment information upfront and will charge the subscription fee automatically when the trial ends unless cancelled.

5. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree NOT to:

• Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
• Share, distribute, or resell access to the Service
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or hack the platform
• Upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
• Harass, bully, or harm other users
• Impersonate others or provide false information
• Scrape, copy, or download content using automated means
• Circumvent any security features or access restrictions
• Use the Service to cheat on assessments or academic work

6. Intellectual Property Rights

6.1 Our Content

All content, materials, features, and functionality of the Service, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, images, videos, software, and curriculum materials, are owned by ChapterLens or our licensors and are protected by Indian and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

6.2 Limited License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Service for personal educational purposes only. This license does not permit you to:

• Reproduce, distribute, or publicly display our content
• Create derivative works from our materials
• Use our content for commercial purposes
• Remove copyright or proprietary notices

6.3 User-Generated Content

You retain ownership of any content you submit to the Service. However, by submitting content, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to use, store, and display such content solely for the purpose of providing the Service.

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. We are committed to protecting student privacy in accordance with applicable laws.

8. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability

8.1 Service Availability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may suspend or discontinue the Service for maintenance, updates, or other reasons.

8.2 Educational Outcomes

While we strive to provide high-quality educational content, we do not guarantee specific learning outcomes or academic results. The Service is a supplementary learning tool and does not replace formal education.

8.3 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ChapterLens shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use or inability to use the Service.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ChapterLens, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.
